Networking groups connect Johns Hopkins employees

Hub, Feb 15

Young professionals, future retirees, adult caregivers, and those caring for children with disabilities can share concerns and advice with others in similar situations

Are you looking for a group focused on something or someone you care about? Are you looking for peers and a safe space to share experiences and resources? Do you just need a little help, encouragement, or advice? Well look no further—a new community awaits you at Johns Hopkins.

The Office of Benefits & Worklife hosts four recurring virtual networking groups that provide an opportunity for employees to connect with Hopkins peers who may be going through similar life experiences. These support and networking groups are Young Professional, Retirement Readiness, Adult Caregiving, and Caregiving for Children With Disabilities.

Young Professional Networking Group

This virtual networking group provides an opportunity for young professionals employed at Hopkins to connect with peers who are navigating a similar stage of life to learn, share resources, and exchange information. Meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of every month.

Registration is required. Click here to join the Microsoft team and receive the calendar invitation. Participants are encouraged to chat and connect in the team and attend any or all of the virtual meetings.

Retirement Readiness Networking Group

For those whose career is a large part of their identity, the journey to retirement can bring up a lot of emotions. Are you feeling anxiety, dread, or excitement as you approach your retirement? Why not join others in the same pre-retirement stage for a conversation about getting ready for your post-work life?

The Retirement Readiness group meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Friday of the month.

Registration is required. Click here to register and to add the dates/links to your calendar. Registrants are encouraged to attend all sessions but may choose to select specific ones.

Adult Caregiving Networking Group

Caregivers for adults might struggle with financial, emotional, and physical challenges as they navigate the needs of an elderly loved one while managing other life priorities. For those wanting a forum in which to connect with other Hopkins employees about adult caregiving issues, the networking group meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month; a second meeting may be added for a special webinar, guest speaker and open discussion, or peer-led support session.

Registration is required. Click here to register for all regularly scheduled sessions and to add the dates/links to your calendar. Separate links will be provided for additional sessions. Registrants are encouraged to attend all sessions but may choose to attend only specific ones.

Caregiving for Children With Disabilities Networking Group

If you care for a child with disabilities, finding support and integrating your own personal care and everyday needs into your routine can be challenging. This group is an opportunity to connect with Hopkins peers who may be facing similar challenges. Meetings are scheduled quarterly, from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Monday of the month. Upcoming dates are May 13, Aug. 12, and Nov. 11.

Registration is required. Click here to register for the sessions you’d like to attend and to add the dates/links to your calendar.
