A Self-Care Checklist for Leaders
A Message From Our Director
Dear reader,
When my team was brainstorming about what to talk about in this edition, we landed on some level of “self-care for recruiters” because in all of our meetings this month, we saw how spread-thin our hiring partners are. Add to that the intense moments of the past week, and we imagine everyone could use some help in this area.
When it comes to business and “getting stuff done,” we are aware that any form of self-care might seem indulgent — extraneous, even.
That’s why we pulled articles from some of our favorites at the Harvard Business Review and First Round (a VC firm I’ve been lucky to work with for the past few years). All of these resources emphasize that, actually, being in a good, grounded place has more impact on your work than you think. Read it here.
A favorite nugget if you don’t have time to read: “We can take control by creating more choice points — moments where we bring in intention and make decisions to move towards our goals or values.”
Wishing you a good week.
Alia
