A Message From Our Director
Dear reader,
Last week, I found myself in Cedar Rapids surrounded by thousands of women at Women Lead Change. It was after lunch, the coffee hadn’t just kicked in, I was a bit distracted…
And then Mallory Weggemann glided onto the stage.
In 2008, Mallory became paralyzed from a routine medical procedure while she was a college freshman. Today, she’s a Paralympic powerhouse with 7 medals (4 gold) and 15 world records.
The day after returning home in a wheelchair, in the middle of one of the greatest tragedies of her life, Mallory shared that she could have stayed in bed and had her dad bring breakfast, or find a new normal. She chose to go downstairs for breakfast.
Sometimes, the way forward in chaos, sadness, or grief is just a simple little action. An action that represents who we want to be in that moment.
As you think about the recruiting season ahead, maybe your next step is a simple one, like reaching out. Let’s connect and make a plan together.
We would love to hear from you!
We’re redesigning our professional education programs to better support working professionals in upskilling and advancing their careers — and your insights would mean a lot to us.
Could you spare 3 minutes to answer a quick 5-question survey?
Your feedback will directly shape the future of our programs. And if you’re open to it, please feel free to share this with other professionals in your network — the more voices, the better!
