Gen Z is Growing Up – So Are Their Career Priorities

Featured: Not just idealists anymore… Gen Z is now Prioritizing Stability over Ideals
A Message From Our Director
Dear reader,
In a leadership course I took at MIT last week, one insight stood out above the rest.
It came from the 4-Player Model — an approach to group dynamics developed by clinical psychologist David Kantor and widely used today in leadership development and team coaching.
Here’s the idea I keep coming back to:
The key difference between a healthy, high-functioning team and a toxic one often comes down to one thing: the ability to repair.
Conflict is inevitable — on teams, in hiring processes, in relationships. But healthy systems bounce back. They create space to name what went wrong, rebuild trust, and keep moving forward.
And while “repair” is just one word, I realized it’s actually made up of five specific behaviors:
- Making it safe for your team to talk about hard things
- Listening — even when it gets uncomfortable
- Trying to understand before reacting
- Owning your part in what happened
- Following through on what needs to change
I believe these steps can reshape how people feel on your team — and whether they choose to stay.
