At Johns Hopkins University, our students aren’t just preparing for their futures—they’re experiencing them in real time. Through dynamic partnerships with leading consulting firms like Deloitte GPS, Accenture Federal Services, KCIC, diiVe, and Bain, Hopkins students have been able to explore the consulting world through immersive events, networking opportunities, and hands-on experiences.
See below how we collaborated with Talent Acquisition members and alumni to provide experiences that don’t just open doors but build bridges between classroom learning and real-world impact.
Deloitte: From Practice to Placement
Deloitte has been one of our cornerstone partners in the consulting space throughout the years, and this academic year was no different. They collaborated with us to host three major Consulting Week events as well as some of their signature programs. In the fall, they partnered with the JHU Consulting Club to host a case prep workshop to kick off Consulting Week, hosted a large-scale info session to share more about their roles, organized an exclusive networking event with alumni, and hosted a student-athlete info session.
From these events, they were able to identify enough students to conduct on-campus interviews for 2 days. In the spring, they return to campus to host an info session and casual coffee chats, helping them stay top of mind with our students.
These multiple touchpoints drove outcomes for both students and Deloitte’s team. Students were able to dive deep into Deloitte’s culture while developing the skills needed to stand out in the competitive consulting landscape. Deloitte was able to identify students to offer internship and full-time positions to. This is one example of how on-campus engagements with the Life Design Lab can drive success.
Accenture Federal Services: A Day in the Life, and Then Some
Accenture Federal Services (AFS) is another partner who has been a staple on campus for years. This fall, they took their engagement even further—participating in both virtual and in-person career fairs, leading three Consulting Week events, and co-creating a standout experience: A Day in the Life of a Consultant. This unique program was a half-day event organized to help students understand what being a consultant looked like. It kicked off with an overview of AFS, followed by a description of the client they were working with. Students were then provided data to analyze and given time to “interview” their client. In the end, teams presented their solutions with the top team winning a prize. Through this partnership, students practiced the skills needed
This idea originated within the career center and was pitched to team members at AFS who were excited to build out an interactive experience for students to gain the necessary skills to be a consultant at AFS. We are so appreciative of partners like AFS saying “yes” and being a true collaborator.
“Accenture’s event particularly stood out to me because of the heavy quantitative and presentation work we were allowed to partake in,” said one student attendee.
These events weren’t only beneficial for the students but were also helpful in identifying students to interview for full-time and internship positions. AFS spent 2 days conducting on-campus interviews and made many offers to bring students on their teams this summer.

KCIC: Small Firm, Big Impact
Sometimes, reintroductions make the biggest impression. After years without formal campus engagement, KCIC returned to Hopkins this year—and students responded with strong enthusiasm. Their coffee chats and student-athlete information session gave students exposure to their specialized work in litigation consulting and data analytics. They capitalized on their two trips to campus by hosting two days of on-campus interviews.
Their success serves as a reminder that boutique and mid-size firms bring a unique, often more personalized, approach to student engagement—and students are taking notice.
diiVe: Taking Consulting Global
For students seeking international experience and deep learning, diiVe offers a standout opportunity. They have continued to be a crucial hiring partner of Hopkins, providing both virtual and in-person (in Cape Town, South Africa!) consulting internship opportunities. Through their participation in the virtual STEM career fair, on-campus coffee chats, and proactive use of the JobsForJays hiring initiative, diiVe selected 12 Hopkins students to join their internship program. Year after year, they take advantage of the resources we provide students, from funding summer scholarships to employer engagement opportunities, to identify top talent to participate in their programs.
Our students continue to have transformational experiences through their programs, and we could not be more excited to continue to foster this partnership.
“This internship has given me new skills and knowledge that I will take with me as I continue my professional journey. It’s solidified my interest in consulting and provided valuable insights into market sizing and team management. Looking ahead, I feel more prepared to pursue a career in this field.” A quote from a summer 2024 intern.
“This entire experience has truly been wonderful. I want to express my appreciation to my entire Bio-Agents team who have been nothing but supportive and hardworking this entire summer. They are incredibly talented individuals and I’m happy to have met and worked with them this summer. I also want to extend my gratitude to the different mentors and speakers who have shared their journeys and knowledge throughout this internship.” A quote from a second summer 2024 intern.

Bain: Focused Preparation, High Impact
While some firms invest in volume, Bain is investing in depth and relevant timing. Their spring programming served as a launchpad for the opening of their applications for students to join their team starting in summer 2026. While on campus for a half-day, they host a case prep session and a consulting info session, both designed to help students refine key consulting skills and learn what sets Bain apart. They are committed to helping students understand the key skills needed to stand out once selected for the case interview.
Their on-campus presence is vital for students connecting with one of the top consulting firms in the world. We value our continued partnership with Bain!

Looking Ahead: A Model for Meaningful Employer Engagement
What makes these partnerships successful isn’t just the number of events—it’s the intentionality behind them. By creating opportunities for exploration, inclusion, and direct connection, these employers are helping Hopkins students envision themselves as future consultants and giving them the tools to get there.
At Hopkins, we believe that employer partnerships should go beyond the career fair. The collaborations highlighted here represent a shared investment in our students’ growth, confidence, and career clarity. We are eager to continue to build upon these relationships in the 2025-2026 academic year!
