Future Fest, Your Way

Remember that old Burger King slogan, “Have it your way”? It was all about letting customers customize their meal and feel like they were in charge — no settling, no compromises. At the Life Design Lab, we’re taking a similar approach to Future Fest 2025

This year’s theme is Cooking Up Possibilities, and we’re inviting you to “Future Fest, Your Way.”

Future Fest is a choose-your-own-adventure festival for your future — whether you’re exploring ideas, building your skills, or ready to meet with employers and land your next big opportunity.

Start Strong at the Kickoff (Sept. 5)

At the Future Fest Kickoff, you’ll meet with Life Design Educators (think of them as your sous chefs) who can help you build a personalized menu of programs based on your interests, major, and future plans.

You’ll get an early look at 20+ Future Fest events, from skill-building workshops to networking mixers — and you’ll be able to register on the spot for the ones that fit your vibe.

Here are just a few options to put on your plate:

  • Reverse Salary Negotiations — Flip the script by stepping into the hiring manager’s shoes.
  • What’s Tea on Your Future (with Black Alumni)
Get real with Black alumni who’ve been where you are. From tough calls to staying true to yourself, they’re spilling tea on what it really takes to succeed.
  • Networking in the U.S. as an International Student
Skip the awkward. This virtual session breaks down how to build real connections in the U.S.—with confidence, clarity, and zero pressure to be perfect.
  • Internship Open House — Explore summer 2026 internships, fellowships, and externships and hear from real employers and past interns.

Not Sure What You Want? That’s Okay.

Sometimes it’s hard to “have it your way” when you’re not even sure what you want yet. That’s why this year’s Future Fest Kickoff — aka the Test Kitchen — is all about experimenting. Mix things up, try out new ingredients, and see what clicks. You don’t need a perfect plan to cook up something great.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up.

And the best part? You don’t have to come alone. Bring your roommate. Your teammate. Your whole crew. Or come solo and meet someone else who’s figuring it out, just like you.

Whether you know your exact order — or you’re the one still holding up the Chipotle line trying to decide — we got you.
