Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a diligent Accounting/Finance Analyst to join our growing accounting and finance department. In this role, you will work as a member of the finance team in a fast-paced environment, supporting corporate, business unit, and program accounting and financial analysis, including cost analysis, burn rate forecasting, profitability analysis, subcontractor cost, and performance analysis. This role often requires working collaboratively with others in the organization to provide detailed reports that include financial projections for revenue, cost, and profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs financial analysis and reporting in order to monitor finances associated with business operations (direct and indirect projects)
- Responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis
- Collects and reviews financial data from various sources
- Creates, maintains, and updates financial databases and spreadsheets and generates various financial reports as required
- Analyzes assigned contracts’ projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit totals
- Maintains appropriate records and documentation
- Supports assigned managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested
- Conducts audits and analysis of their organization’s direct and indirect costs and reviews their practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner
- May have risk identification and recovery responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Participates in special projects as required
Minimum Qualifications
- 0-2 years of Accounting experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Efficient problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Jira, Tableau
- Ability to secure CPA certification
