The DEI Collective is a diversity hiring program launched at Johns Hopkins University in partnership with selected companies to promote equitable access to internship experiences. We work with organizations who are committed to improving access to students from underrepresented communities. This includes: first-generation, limited-income, minority, LGBTQ, international students, and students with disabilities.
Our members aim is to engage students early and therefore, build more diverse hiring pipelines for themselves. We share best practices with each other and are committed to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion at our organizations.
August 20: Launch of the Employer Application for companies who want to join the DEI Collective
Sept 26: Application deadline for companies who want to join the DEI Collective.
Oct 10: Last day to provide job / position descriptions
November 14: Receive tailored resume books for each position.
December 2: Deadline to select candidates for interviews.
January 18-25: DEI Collective 1-on-1 interviews with selected candidates.
Feb 17: Deadline to make internship offers to selected students.
Feb 28: Deadline to make internship offers to alternate candidates.
April 3: Report outcomes to the DEI Team.
