DLDS: CareerKit Growing Your Professional Network

Building a strong professional network is an effective strategy for exploring career options and opening the door to new opportunities. In this workshop, we will focus on practical and approachable strategies for making meaningful connections, including how to find the right people, reach out, and build relationships over time. You will leave with tools for telling your professional story, communicating your goals, making a strong first impression, and greater confidence in your ability to build a purposeful network of professional contacts. This workshop is part of CareerKit, a weekly series for doctoral and postdoctoral scholars that covers key steps in preparing for a range of career paths. Each session includes a 30-minute lesson followed by a 30-minute practicum, so you can learn practical strategies and apply them right away with feedback. You’re welcome to attend for just the first 30 minutes or stay for the full hour.
