The Software Developer Fellow will play an integral role on the JAARS Software Engineering team. He or she will work closely with other staff to develop and support the FlightSpan app, an aviation platform built specifically for mission aviators and others flying in remote environments. Areas of service include developing, troubleshooting, and testing new features and bug reports.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new software programs
  • Maintain, develop and implement new features for existing software programs
  • Communicate project needs clearly with other members of the development team
  • Write technical reference and end user documentation for software programs
  • Learn new software development and implementation skills as required

Position Requirements

  • A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
  • Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS
  • Associates or Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent proficiency in PHP
  • Excellent database/SQL proficiency
  • Ability to quickly analyze and learn a large existing codebase

  • Javascript proficiency (highly preferred)
  • HTML5 & CSS (highly preferred)
  • Yii Framework proficiency (preferred)
