The Opportunity:
At MFG, we work at the forefront of the media-for-equity model, an emerging investment approach that combines venture capital with strategic media support to help consumer brands scale efficiently in the U.S. and Europe.
We’re looking for an Investment Associate to join MFG and help identify and support the next generation of consumer brands.
This is a strong opportunity for a final-year student or recent graduate who wants early exposure to the nuts and bolts of managing a fund, hands-on learning with an experienced team, and a chance to be part of a new venture model that is gaining international recognition. You’ll work closely with the CEO and Capital Strategy Partner, supporting both new investments and portfolio management.
The successful candidate will:
- Own and manage our deal pipeline:
- Quickly and thoughtfully assess a high volume of opportunities.
- Track investment opportunities in our CRM.
- Manage relationships and expectations with startup founders.
- Create and maintain financial models and valuation analyses.
- Get involved in all stages of the investment process, from first call through to diligence and building & presenting the investment case
- Assist MFG’s Capital Strategy Partner with managing MFG’s existing portfolio
- Support the management by providing information on trends, market research, and competitive research to advance in the Due Diligence process (DD)
- Prepare reports or presentations for investment decisions.
- Support MFG by sharing relevant deal flow and helping curate insights for our Media LPs and Investors.
- Collaborate across other parts of MFG to drive value for our Portfolio.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
• Passion for investing and superior analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Previous internship experience investing in early-stage companies (in a VC firm or as an individual/angel) is preferable, but not required.
• Intellectually curious and willing to learn.
• Highly-organised and professional.
• High accountability and end-to-end ownership of tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Proven ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, designed to work around the candidate’s academic schedule. Candidates are expected to join our weekly team meetings each.
