Role Overview
As an AI Automation Systems Engineer, you will identify repetitive workflows across sales, marketing, operations, and product, then replace them with durable AI-powered systems. You’ll prototype quickly in Replit or Cursor, mature solutions on Postgres/MySQL, and deliver measurable time-savings or revenue gains.
Work location: This is a 100 % on-site position at our Des Plaines headquarters. Daily, face-to-face collaboration with sales, ops, and product teams is essential to succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities

Workflow Triage & Rapid Prototyping
- Shadow a sales pod, map pain points, ship a minimum-viable automation in one week using ChatGPT, Claude, and no-code/low-code tools.

System Hardening & Scaling
- Convert prototypes into secure, observable services (logging, alerts, error-handling) that support 100+ daily users.

AI Agent Development
- Chain GPT-4o and Claude calls to generate follow-up emails, voice drops, or CRM updates—then A/B-test and iterate.

Debugging & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor performance, investigate failures, refine prompts, and deploy safeguards quickly.

Enablement & Knowledge Sharing
- Lead concise workshops so non-technical teams can adapt or extend automations independently.
- Primary KPI: hours saved or incremental revenue generated per sprint.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
- Demonstrated project in Replit or Cursor
- Solid SQL skills (Postgres or MySQL).
- Hands-on experience with ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable LLMs.
- Strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and an iterative, “ship-and-learn” mindset.
- Ability to commute to Des Plaines five days per week (no relocation assistance provided).
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Zapier/Make/Airtable expertise or CRM integrations (VinSolutions, CDK).
Python or TypeScript for API-level work.
Side projects with real users or revenue.
