This position complies with the Fair Labor Standard Act. We are a registered non-profit in the state of Florida awaiting 501c3 determination with the IRS.
In part to comply, with the FLSA, our program needs to fit what you would learn at your institution. Think of your school providing the liberal arts approach, as we provide the hands on/applied approach.
The responsibilities and tasks are custom tailored to each individual based on their degree program requirements. For example, if they applied to the social media internship and have taken a psychology course and didn’t do well or wanted to do more with it, we would add a psychology component that that would entail colors and moods, times of day, day of the week, as it correlates with mood and engagement, and so on.
The only qualifications is that the student is interested and enrolled in school.
As far as responsibilities go, that’s tailored to the individual and what they would want to put into it.
At the end of the program the student will present upon a relevant topic, which we will submit to their institution should they decide to give credit.
We are happy to work with your school for credit, if they allow it.
We have two categories of positions: the open internship and ones that are more traditional in terms of specific position, which is found here (http://purpleleaf.org/jobs/)
