The Black Student Nurses Association at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is dedicated to fulfilling its responsibility in contributing to nursing education by fostering an environment where Black nursing students can thrive. Our fundamental interest lies in providing programs and initiatives that address the interests and needs of Black nursing students, ensuring their representation and empowerment within the nursing community. Through our mission, we aim to aid in the holistic development of our members, nurturing their professional roles while instilling a sense of responsibility for the healthcare needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The Black Student Nurses Association prioritizes creating safe spaces for Black nursing students through our programming and resources. Our mentorship program offers invaluable support and guidance, facilitating the progression of Black nursing students through their academic journey. We understand the importance of community service in promoting health equity, which is why we actively engage in initiatives such as food drives and volunteer opportunities. Our commitment to serving the community was recognized with the 2023 SOURCE Community Service Award by Johns Hopkins University, underscoring our dedication to making a meaningful impact beyond the walls of our institution. Through our collective efforts, we strive to empower Black nursing students, advocate for their needs, and foster positive change within the nursing profession and the communities we serve.
