Student Clubs

The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Journal Club and communications aim to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives toward addressing GBV, and to foster opportunities for JHU students, staff, and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. The group is housed at JHSPH, and welcomes students, staff, faculty, and alumni across JHU.

Membership in this organization is open to all irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, nationality, disability, political affiliation or other opinion. Meeting attendance is not mandatory to maintain membership.

1. To organize regular opportunities to examine and critique current research, practice, and policy related to GBV. A regularly scheduled Journal Club offers opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to dialogue about research and practice related to GBV.
2. To promote and amplify the research, practice, and policy work of students, staff, faculty, and alumni working in the field of GBV.
3. To provide students with a forum to discuss issues and concerns with each other and faculty participating in GBV research, practice, and policy.
4. To share employment, practicum, and volunteer opportunities related to GBV with students, staff, and faculty.
