Xiuqi Chen is a PhD student in Christian Kaiser lab at the Biology department. He is interested in the protein biosynthesis and maturation process. His work focuses on monitoring protein folding in the live cells with a high-throughput reporter assay and investigating the biophysical properties of multi-domain proteins with single-molecule optical tweezers. Previously, he obtained his bachelor’s degree at Tsinghua University in Biosciences and had research experience in synthetic biology. Xiuqi enjoys teaching and mentoring students during classes and in the lab. Outside the lab, he likes reading and hiking.
