An immersive career shadowing experience for doctoral students and postdocs.
Career360 is a career exploration experience for doctoral students and postdocs with three distinct tracks: Shadowing, Discovery, and Trip. Each track offers a different way to learn about industries, roles, and organizational culture through direct engagement with professionals.
Whether you’re deeply interested in a specific path or simply exploring options, Career360 gives you the opportunity to connect with professionals to learn about their day-to-day responsibilities, career journeys, and practical advice for entering and advancing in the field. Shadowing
Shadowing is a two-day immersive career shadowing experience for doctoral students and postdocs that includes six key touchpoints: sitting in meetings, observing projects and daily tasks, touring the organization, having career conversations with entry, mid, and senior-level professionals, participating in Q&A sessions, and making networking introductions. This in-depth experience offers a comprehensive view of the role and workplace, helping scholars build clarity, confidence, and valuable professional connections.

Discovery
Discovery gives doctoral students and postdocs the chance to explore career possibilities through two virtual or in-person conversations with professionals. You’ll learn about their day-to-day work, how they got started, how they overcame challenges, and what supported their growth. You’ll also gain a better understanding of their organization and connect with additional colleagues to see how careers progress and expand your network.

Trips
Trips are a group site visit for doctoral students and postdocs to tour an organization, learn about its mission and different roles, see projects up close, and connect with staff to build their professional network.

What is Career360?
Career360 has three tracks—Shadowing, Discovery, and Trip—designed to help doctoral scholars explore career options, understand real work environments, and build professional connections. Whether it’s observing daily tasks, having focused conversations, or touring organizations, scholars gain clarity and confidence to move forward.
As a host, you have the opportunity to inspire future leaders while highlighting your team’s work and workplace culture.
Why Host?
Hosting a scholar through Career360 is an opportunity to:
Showcase your organization’s talent and impact to highly trained scholars exploring their next steps.
Give back by sharing your team’s knowledge, insights, and experiences.
Build relationships with emerging professionals who could become future collaborators, advocates, or team members.
Provide your staff with a rewarding professional development experience through mentoring, leadership, and reflection.

What Does Hosting Involve?
Career360: Shadowing
Career360: Shadowing is a two-day in-person experience (6–8 hours each day) where scholars join your team to observe meetings, daily tasks, and team dynamics. You’ll give a brief tour, facilitate career conversations across role levels, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at how your organization operates. Your role is to provide exposure, clarity, and connection through real-time engagement.
Career360: Discovery
Career360: Discovery involves two 60–90 minute virtual or in-person conversations. As a host, you’ll meet with a scholar to share your career journey, day-to-day work, and advice for entering and growing in the field. You’ll also introduce the scholar to one or more colleagues to help them understand the broader organization and build their network.
Career360: Trips
Career360: Trips are a one-day on-site group visit. You’ll give scholars a tour of your organization, share an overview of your work and culture, introduce them to team members across functions, and highlight real projects. It’s a chance to give students a clear picture of the roles and opportunities within your organization.
