Skills Inventory
Skills Inventory
Identifying and effectively communicating your skills is a vital part of life design and career readiness. According to the “Designing Your Life” framework, there are multiple “good” paths, and designing your life is a continuous process. Reflecting on the skills you’ve gained helps you:
- Understand your career direction and personal aspirations.
- Identify skills you need to develop.
- Communicate your value effectively to employers.
Reflection and Analysis
- Skill Patterns: Are there recurring skills across your experiences? What do these patterns reveal about your strengths?
- Skill Categories: Did you identify more skills in certain groups? What does this suggest about your professional inclinations?
- Industry Fit: Research skills valued in your field of interest (try tools like O*Net) and see how your current skills align.
- Job Descriptions: Study how employers describe key skills and reframe your experiences to match their needs.
