Here’s What’s Happening – Fall 2023

Map the System

Map the System is a global competition focused on exploring the wider context of social and environmental issues.

The competition challenges participants to use systems thinking as a guiding approach to understanding some of the most complex issues the world faces today. Participants will delve deep into a social or environmental issue that matters to them and will take the time to explore, probe and research all its connecting elements and factors — later sharing their findings in a way that people can meaningfully understand, share, and learn from.

We are currently recruiting for teams and coaches through October 2023!

Industry Weeks Kick Off

Curious about exploring certain industries but don’t know where to start?

Beginning the week of September 25th and throughout the semester, we’re inviting industry leaders each week to discuss innovations in the field, what it is like to work there, what opportunities exist for internships/jobs, and how you can standout in the process!

You can sign up for these events even if they do not align with your major. Come ready to ask questions, gain new insight, and network with company recruiters.

Handshake is JHU’s premiere platform to register for all events, find drop in hours, view resources, and apply for JHU vetted internships, jobs and other immersive experiences! It’s free for all enrolled students and always up-to-date.

Are you a current full-time JHU student and looking for on-campus jobs? SMILE is the best place to find roles that can expand your university network, grow your professional and personal skills, and help you learn more about JHU!
