George Washington Teacher Institute (GWTI) Intern
Part-Time, Summer 2024
Background
The Education and Guest Services Division provides meaningful learning opportunities for Mount Vernon’s one million annual onsite visitors and students in classrooms around the country. Through a diverse portfolio of interpretive experiences, engaging programs, and online resources, we expand each learner’s understanding of and appreciation for George Washington and the revolutionary world in which he lived.
The Department of Learning is designed to ensure that Mount Vernon is focused on creating and providing the best learning experiences available to young people in the world today. The GWTI intern will work directly with the Manager of K12 Learning and the Classroom Resources Specialist to support K-12 teacher and student learning at Mount Vernon. Support will include a diverse range of logistics, communication, administration, and evaluation of teacher programs and projects, including the GWTI signature six-week-long professional development Summer Residential Programs and two Teacher Fellowship Programs.
