Summary
Positions are open for full-time technicians in the Yu and Lichterfeld Labs at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard. Candidates will assist in virological and immunological research on pathogenesis and viral persistence during HIV-1 infection. Knowledge gained from these studies will help guide the design of more effective vaccines and treatments against various infectious pathogens, particularly HIV-1.
Job Duties
Under the direction of the PI and postdoctoral research fellows, candidates may:
· Perform assays utilizing standard molecular biology and immunology techniques (cloning, DNA and RNA extraction, quantitative PCR, droplet digital PCR, reverse transcription, gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry, library preparation for next generation sequencing)
· Assist in cell/tissue processing and in vitro cell culture maintenance in a BSL-2+ setting
· Assist in inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
· Participate in ongoing quality control/assurance programs
· Perform data analysis and visualization in Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, and Adobe Illustrator
· Present findings in one-on-one meetings with the PI and on a quarterly basis in lab meetings
Qualifications
· 0 to 2 years of experience
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong interest in HIV-1 and infectious disease wet lab research
· Some PCR experience preferred
