JOB TITLE: International Case Manager & Family Support Specialist
STATUS: Full-Time Staff
REPORTS TO: International Adoption Program Director
SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000 annually
POSITION SUMMARY
The Barker Adoption Foundation is seeking a licensed MSW with 2-4 years’ experience to serve as the case manager for our international adoption programs. The International Case Manager & Family Support Specialist is a full-time position, combining administrative and clinical responsibilities. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the case management and family support aspects of all of Barker’s international adoption services, including placements, and post-placement services. This position includes potential for international travel and reports to the International Adoption Programs Director, including weekly clinical supervision. This is a full-time position located in Bethesda, MD, with a hybrid work schedule available. Applicants must have reliable transportation, ability to work some evenings and weekends. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) in Social Work with 2-4 years of experience in the field of adoption. LICSW/LCSW-C preferred.
- Maintain social work licensure in D.C. and Maryland
- Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of impact of trauma and institutionalization on children/youth
- Demonstrated understanding of international customs, norms, and regulations and willingness to learn
- Comfort with working with various database systems and basic word processing programs
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines, manage projects independently, and take initiative, offering and executing ideas to help move the organization forward
- Innovative; must be resourceful in solving problems and proposing new ideas
- Strong leadership and organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Must be flexible, able to multi-task, and enjoy working in a diverse, results-oriented workplace where a premium is placed on teamwork
- Must have flexibility to perform duties as needed after hours, or on weekends
- Must be available for domestic and international travel, as deemed necessary by the Program Director
- Must have access to reliable transportation
