Vision – The founding principles are drawn from American Ornithology Society’s mission, which includes the following aims: to advance the scientific understanding of birds and disseminate ornithological knowledge, enrich ornithology as a profession and mentor young professionals, and promote a rigorous scientific basis for the conservation of birds. The organization will work together with and under the guidance of the David S. Olton Program in Behavioral Biology at Johns Hopkins University toward the vision.
