Host a Jay – Job Shadowing Opportunity

Job shadowing is temporary, unpaid exposure to the workplace in an occupational area of interest to a student. Through the shadowing program, Johns Hopkins alumni and parents have the unique opportunity to invite students to explore career options and refine their interests.

A typical shadowing experience may involve sitting in on an executive meeting, observing a client presentation, or attending a strategic management meeting.

Timeline

  • August – October: Shadow opportunities are posted on Handshake, our job platform.
  • October / November: Attend our “Meet Our Hosts” information session.
  • December: Resumes are sent to alums & parents for review, selections are made, and students are notified.
  • January 2 – 13: Students will shadow for 2-3 days.
